Dear Escondido Parents and Community Members:
It has been an honor to serve as your school board member for the past four years. I used the knowledge I gained as a teacher and educator to support improvements in educational curriculums and programs, providing multiple opportunities for students to reach their full potential. I’ve been committed to helping students succeed for over 40 years before retiring in 2020.
In order for teaching and learning to take place parents, students, teachers, and staff must feel safe. I served on the Independent Citizens oversight Committee for the local bond measure that was passed in 2014. I made learning without fear a top priority.
A school district’s success is contingent on a collaboration between parents, teachers, staff, administrators and the community. I maintained connections with each group and considered their perspectives before every vote, while keeping in mind my own fiscal responsibilities.
My promise and commitment to parents, teachers and the community is to continue to provide a safe learning environment where our students can acquire skills to pursue the jobs and careers they desire; to resolve issues that impede learning; and to continue building alliances that will create a better future for all students who attend the Escondido Union schools.
I am running for re-election. I worked hard to gain your trust, confidence
and support. Despite the challenges in education over the past two years,
student safety and education remained my key focus. I would appreciate
your vote to keep leading the Escondido Union School District in a positive,
effective and productive direction.
